Truly Happy Tyler

I was so very happy to meet and work with Tyler and his wonderful parents. Everyone was so happy on the day of the portrait session. Tyler smiled so much, and to a photographer, that is exactly what you hope for. Tyler is one of four siblings, and even though I didn’t get to meet the other three grown children, Mom says that they absolutely love their little brother and Tyler lights up whenever they are around!

Tyler and Mom seem to have such a special relationship. I could see it when I was photographing them. She says that they love to get out and do things together like movies, bowling, music, and shopping…even though those are really things that mom actually enjoys doing, she says Tyler is a trooper!

Mom explains, “Tyler is a surviving twin born extremely premature at 23 weeks weighing 1 lb 6 oz.  He spent his first 4.5 months in the NICU fighting for his life. Given a 10% survival rate Tyler battled through countless surgeries, procedures, infections and close calls.  Despite doctors recommendations we never once gave up on him.   Tyler lives with the effects of his prematurity.  He has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, seizure disorder, cortical vision impairment, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, a VP shunt, autonomic dysfunction and a feeding tube.  Despite it all Tyler is a happy 11 year old ball of energy who loves to go to school and to stay active. “

Cindy and Joel, Tyler’s parents, both work full time to be able to provide for their family which they say, can be difficult when Tyler becomes ill. The slightest cold could and has landed him in the ICU for weeks at a time. Even when he seems to be doing well, they can’t ever let their guard down. They say that managing Tyler’s doctor appointments, medications, DME supplies and equipment could be a full time job in itself.

Cindy told me that they are so grateful for the opportunity to have portraits done and they love the results! She says that photos are so important to families like theirs but are seldom able to be a priority! She says she will cherish them.

I am so happy to be able to do this, and meet Tyler’s family. They are so sweet, kind, and happy. I loved being out in the beautiful park with them, photographing their happy family. We even got some help from Tyler’s nurse, a man with an awesome personality, who obviously loves Tyler just as much as his family does!

Thank you so much to the sponsor for this session, Southdown Homes of Downingtown. Because of their investment in portraits for their company’s website, I was able to photograph Tyler and his family. I truly appreciate their business, and so does this amazing family! They have a wonderful staff, and it was so much fun working with all of them as well!

If you’d like a custom portrait session for your family or business, then you could also have the chance to be a sponsor for a deserving family, just because of your investment. Call or email Ana at 302-300-7569 or ana@photosbyexpressions.com
