Amber's Crew!

This is Amber’s family. They were a pleasure to work with, and a lot of fun! We had a great time out at the park on an unusually warm day for late November!

Amber’s mom says that they love to stay active and find things that they can all do together. “We love to go to the movies, trampoline parks, bowling, roller skating and go out to eat.” She says, “We like to be active as a family but finding activities that we all can participate in can be difficult. We find ways to make it happen!”

Amber is an 18 year old girl who has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, vp shunt (a surgical procedure that protects your brain from injury due to excess fluid), and Crohn’s. Mom says “along with the doctor’s appointments we’ve learned how to adapt and meet all of her needs.”

Despite these challenges that they face each day, this family seems so positive and sweet. They make it look very easy to care for someone like Amber.

We had fun joking around with Amber’s younger brother, and Amber seemed to love posing for the camera with her siblings! Mom had mentioned that she loved having her photo taken, and this made it a lot of fun to photograph her!

As we were walking in the park to the perfect location, Mom was telling me about Amber’s brand new wheelchair. She mentioned that Amber liked it because it was the fast model! They also need a special mini van to accommodate her wheelchair.

Mom said, “The portraits will provide us with keepsake memories that we otherwise would not have the opportunity to have done.”

It was a true pleasure meeting and working with this family. Amber’s big smile is enough to make anyone happy! I love to celebrate children like Amber, and let people know how special they and their families are. The sponsor family for this session will remain anonymous. They were a great family to photograph, and I want to thank them for helping me give back.
